Prisoner of the Shadows

In shadows deep, I gaze for hours,
Seeking light in my world of towers.

A life in fragments, sphere so broken,
A princess trapped, words left unspoken.

Cold and dark, my castle's embrace,
Rare glimmers of light, a fleeting trace.
Tiny pores, a fragile gleam,
Sustaining hope in this spectral dream.

Is it my mind, a captive thought,
That makes this space feel tightly wrought?
Echoes of banging, a relentless sound,
Punching my walls, my world unbound.

Beasts infest the corners, wild and free,
A caged bird, longing to be free.
Deformed and changed, no space to find,
In this realm, once mine, now confined.
